Fear or Faith
Do you experience fear of some kind? I know I do; so you’re not alone.
Truth bomb –> When thinking about growing my business or when money is involved, fear creeps in. I find myself fighting fearful thoughts far too often. I’m just being honest and vulnerable here….. Fear lurks in the shadows, just waiting to capture my attention and tries to derail me from every new idea God drops in my heart.
2 Timothy 1:7 (TPT) states:
God will never give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love and self-control.
I love it when scripture is so absolute.
God will NEVER give you the spirit of fear.
‘Never’ is a really long time and only our gracious God can make that claim. He will NEVER give us the spirit of fear. If that’s the case then I think we know exactly who brought fear into the world, don’t we?
The TPT version of Hebrews 11:1 says it like this:
Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen.
This scripture is what our enemy wants to prevent from taking root in our heart.
Satan introduced us to fear to counteract the very basis of God’s gift to us….. our measure of faith.
As entrepreneurs, I believe we’re prone to falling prey to fear. Being an entrepreneur means risk and vulnerability. GOD knew this when He created us to be entrepreneurs. And believe this… He CHOSE you to be an entrepreneur. He dropped that entrepreneurial bug inside of you. That thing you can’t quite shake. I know exactly how that feels because I have it too. It just won’t go away!
He KNEW (because He created us this way) that we would need to take some risks and allow people to see us from a genuine and authentic standpoint. In a book I’m reading (Profit First), they say “Entrepreneurs convert ideas into reality”. God knew that the ideas he’s given us to convert into reality would take a measure of faith. He trusted us with this conversion process and
HE KNEW EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU WHEN HE MADE THIS DECISION.
FRIENDS, HE KNEW!
He knew we’d need a measure of faith to bring our hopes and His ideas into reality. He knew the faith He gave us would create the foundation for us as entrepreneurs. He knew what our entrepreneurial hearts would long for. He knew the measure of faith we’d need to be able to believe that we could succeed, though we couldn’t see the outcome. He knew all of this.
So, what has you full of fear today that needs to have your God-given measure of faith poured all over it?
For me, it’s a huge new direction that will live alongside my consulting business. It’s so big and so audacious that I need a measure of faith I don’t think I have right now. (<- another truth bomb) But I know if God gave me this idea to convert into reality, He will also go before me and pave the way. I am hanging onto ALL the faith scriptures. I’m digging into the Word and believing the scripture that tells me that ‘faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.’ Romans 10:17
Thankfully, I know the place to go to get the answers and the measure of faith I need.
