There’s this deep peaceful feeling I get when I know I’m following the plan and purpose Jesus has for my business.

If feels….

           directed
                 and
                     light
                        and……..
                              easy.

I think about the scripture Matthew 11:30 where Jesus said – “My yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

When we are in the middle of God’s purpose and plan for our business, we are yoked with Jesus.

Being yoked with Jesus means He is carrying around at least half the load AND he’s leading.

To better understand the significance of this scripture and the word yoked, we have to understand its meaning.

When oxen are yoked together, they only pull half the load. A yoke is literally a wooden piece (see picture above) that connects the two animals together and also connects them to what they’re pulling. In addition, according to what I’ve read, they typically yoke an inexperienced ox with a more experienced one. This allows the experienced ox to train the other.

Friend, I’ve fought letting go and letting Jesus lead and pull.

• I’ve tried to do it NOT yoked at all with Jesus. That doesn’t work.
• I’ve tried to be yoked ….. but then attempt to lead. That doesn’t work.
• I’ve tried being yoked but do all the pulling. That doesn’t work.

But when I’m yoked with Jesus, His yoke is easy and His burden is light, which means:

• The yoke doesn’t weigh me down.
• It’s there, easily steering me in the direction He is guiding me.
• His burden is light because He’s doing most of the pulling.
• I get to watch Him lead and learn from Him.

This is the feeling and process everything around us fights against. Society says to be successful, we have to hustle, do it ourselves and not depend on anyone or anything.

But God’s way of doing business is different. It requires work but not the way society likes to define it.

Our work is yoked with Jesus where he’s leading the way.

He’s teaching us.

He’s doing half the pulling.

Being yoked with Jesus is where that deep peaceful feeling comes from. It’s those moments where everything feels directed and light and easy. This is how I know I’m on the right path for my business.

My prayer for you is that you experience this deep peaceful feeling too….very soon.
